Lori worked at a gym I belonged to and I was referred to her by an instructor who I was working with who happened to be leaving the gym. I think in general starting Pilates was about getting stronger and leaner overall, but not hurting my body like with boot camps and personal trainers. I was/am getting older, and Pilates is very challenging without putting so much strain on my knees and back.

Lori also was always seeking out the latest methods and very creative in our sessions.  She is obviously very passionate in her work and outcomes. With Lori, I would describe our sessions as Pilates with a twist.  For instance, she created classes at both gyms where I worked with her. She started a Pilates/TRX class that was awesome. Then she created a class with CoreAlign, TRX, and Reformer.  So, I would call her sessions ‘creative Pilates’ to increase your heart rate as well as maintaining the core functions of Pilates.

I learned how to build strength and muscle functionality without injury.  For instance, I had/have poor posture and Pilates has helped open up my shoulders and trained me to be conscious of my body when I'm not working out - like when I'm sitting or standing.

In particular, I found Lori's passion and constant search for creativity and learning new methods to be inspiring. She is and has always been invested in her job.

I shoot for practicing Pilates twice a week, at least once a week. Consistency helps with my flexibility, strength, functionality, mood, and body ailments (sore back, shoulders, hip flexors, etc).
